Both of these songs are done by one of my favorite bands of all time, Breaking Benjamin.  The lyrics to these songs are both fairly dark.  I Will Not Bow  has lyrics about not giving into temptation and how they will do things their way, on their own terms, and that they will excel.  Diary of Jane is about a lost love and how it still hurts after everything that has happened.  The tone of the songs are very similar.  The subjects of the songs are very different.  Both of the songs do have strong melodies.  The guitar drives the rhythm for I Will Not Bow, and the piano drives the rhythm for Diary of Jane.  Both songs also have fast paced melodies.  Never does a note linger for too much longer then the next.  Both songs have a medium to fast rhythm, speed, timbre, and similar organization.  I Will Not Bow mostly has a medium range pitch with the exception of the guitar that can be high pitched at times which gives the song the extra dynamic quality it needs.  This song also has a great intensity to it.  Each instrument has it’s own moments when it comes to their intensity in their solos.  There was strong intensity throughout the song because there was always something going on instrumentally.  In the song Diary of Jane has a high range of pitches both instrumental and vocals which contributes to the softness nature of the song.  Even though Diary of Jane is an acoustic song, it does have its own intensity to it.  Unlike the first song, Diary of Jane has only a few moments to really let the intensity reach its high point which makes those moments seem more rare and special.
It is really hard to say which song is my favorite.  But if someone held a gun to my head and told me that I would absolutely have to choose, it would probably be I Will Not Bow.  I really do love that Diary of Jane is a very eerie sounding song.  But I love that I Will Not Bow sounds really full and that even though it sounds like complete chaos at times, it is so structure.
